Maria and her knitting group work from their homes in Cochabamba, Bolivia creating adorable stuffed animals and other products from super soft alpaca yarn. Knitting has a very long history among Bolivian artisans, originally performed by men in the countryside. Now the tradition is carried on mainly by women. The artisans translate photos of real animals into winsome caricatures of those creature in knit form. more ▶
